Gliding Craft

In the gardens in the Philippines and the misty horizontal freezers in Canada, I used to imagine, as a kid, a gliding craft.  I swooped with my hand or a paper plane.

Sexism

It's easy to fall into the trap of sexism, such as being anti-woman.  But we should be more aware.  The clitoris is just a small rendition of the penis.  Some men behave like women.  The acceptance of a bit of femininity by men may be healthy.  Every person has both masculine and feminine aspects.  The postmodern person isn't limited to the birth gender.

Bell Curve Intelligence

All the races follow the Bell Curve natural distribution of intelligence.  There are smart and dumb people, both.

Technological Retrogression Unlikely

Technological retrogression is unlikely in the future, in my opinion.  As I believe there is intervention, a big war would not transpire that would incur such fate.

Blackout

An extremely long blackout engulfed Lulu Island and other parts of Metro Vancouver yesterday.  What an ordeal it was!  Hearsay told of power lines broken by strong winds.

Language Affects Personality

Your language affects your personality.

Like Philip Tan

The Chinese seem just like Philip Tan in my high school days, as they're more concerned about work and are not too affectionate as a people.  They're not like the Japanese, Hispanics, or French.  I think the Chinese here on Lulu Island show primitive thoughts, and none of them has exhibited the intelligence of my Yugoslav ufologist friend Brian Tepsa.  Don Chan, a longtime friend from HK, is an intelligent sci-fi buff, but I think he's not pure Chinese.  Sigh!

Esperanto and Japanese

Although I involve myself always with numerous other languages on TV, in the Web, in books, etc., I put my attention these days in learning more Esperanto and Japanese by browsing dictionaries, especially.

Sexless Crying

You see people who look like they're always crying.  They evade sexual activity.  They don't masturbate or copulate.

Religions Just Fantasies

Religions are human inventions, just fantasies.

World Unimportant

If you'd study cosmology, you'd feel the world is not really important, the Earth being one of many specks in the cosmos.

Farflung English

When I write English, I don't think of England.  For Filipinos, unlike those British colonies, English comes from the USA.  But nowadays, English may have no more nationality.  In ancient times, the origin of English was not just from England, as parts of its vocabulary came from Germanic tribes in Europe, whilst most other parts Latinate.  English is classified as a Germanic language, as you can note that the German "Du bist ein junger Mann" is like "Thou art a young man."

In these postmodern times, we can detach the nationality from a language.

Religious Sex

My friend KB is rather strange, but is quite intelligent.  He's read a whole ton of books about different religions.  He thinks there should be sex involved in your god.  He might even have sex with his god.  After his thorough religious research, he's picked Hinduism as his very favourite, but his background, being Filipino-Canadian, is Roman Catholic.

Orange Tongue

I've been wanting to learn an Indochinese language, like Vietnamese and Thai, for many years now.  Thai alphasyllabic writing is difficult to remember, and I think some Kanji are easier to remember for me. Vietnamese uses a charming rendition of the Roman alphabet, loaded with accents.  It's my Orange Fantasy.  Hurray!

Future

The past is full of scars and is dirty, so we must look to the future.

Balut

Balut is a Philippine delicacy of boiled duck embryo in its shell.

Bagoong

Bagoong is a Philippine condiment made of fermented fish or krill, and salt.

Dioscorea alata

This purple plant is Dioscorea alata, which is ube in the Philippines and beniimo in Japan.  In English, the name seems undecided:  winged yam, purple yam, water yam, etc.

Linguaphile:  I have browsed many, many documents about various languages from Arabic to Volapük to Zulu.  I am a beginner in over a hundred languages.  (I read phrasebooks like other people read newspapers.)  I know that C‑3PO can do better!  He he!  The protocol droid says, "I am fluent in over six million forms of communication..."  Ego es un hobbyista de Interlingua, Esperanto, e Lojban. Homines que ha un passion pro le spatio externe me place.
